Fallujah in Dire Straights, Do Something!

This blog post on the McClatchy blog is written by one of their Iraqi correspondents who went to Fallujah, where he is from. He had been reporting from Baghdad. You can read from his post the urgency of the situation there. He's asking us to help by e-mailing this post to our senators and representatives to demand they take action to help them.

I'll summarize on the flip.
The main points are the need to have a cemetry to bury the dead in the area of Fallujah that satisfies the people. The post describes where that is. It's 130 degrees there and they have no electricity, clean water and the towers for cell phones aren't working. These people need to be able to communicate. Recommendations for doing that are posted as well. Iraq has issued to people an ID badge that identifies people by their sect/tribe. It's like making them wear a yellow star. This is the al Anbar province where the Sunni tribes are helping the marines to fight AQ. They need our help. It's a humanitarian crisis.
I've also donated money to the UNHCR, designated for Iraq refugees. There are some 4 million of them and more coming all the time to Syria, Jordan and internally displaced inside Iraq.
Please read Dulaimy's post and recommend this diary to help keep this important message alive, thank you.
